On June 7 2018,, after owning our home in Arroyo Seco for 4 years, we have added 2.6 acres and have embark on the journey to create a micro farm specializing in Lavender. We hope to add a Geodesic advanced greenhouse from Growing Spaces in Pagosa Springs. This will enable us to start over 4000 lavender plans for propagation to the field.
A quarter of a million gallon retention pond fed from the Martinez acequia , will combine with a 5000 gallon above ground water tank, solar pumps and an advanced control system to provide an unparalleled water supply that is highly ecological and efficient.
Down the road we hope to expand with an orchard producing apples, apricots, pears, cherries and other fruits. After the fields are fully planted, specialty micro greens and vegetables will be grown in the geodesic dome and made available to local restaurants (along with services from our 26 year old restaurant technology consulting business).
